Day 51

Today I spent 30 minutes thrifting at Goodwill! I went looking for t-shirts to turn into skirts and I left with two t-shirts, a pair of shoes, veggie seeds and a couple sheets. My friend Corinne made me a bag using sheets from the thrift store and I loved that idea so i'm planning on making something with the sheets I found.

I was so eager to try out the t-shirt skirt that I started it at 12:30am! It was really easy except for winding the bobbin. The top of it is shirring and you have to wind the bobbin with the elastic at the right tension. Once I got it down, though, it was simple! I'm going to try and make the other one tomorrow and try and make it a little longer. I like how this one turned out though and it is really comfy!

Day 50

I love this dog. I can't even remember what it was like not to have a dog and we have only had him for a year and a half. He is the greatest dog ever.

Day 49

This has really turned into a birthday week! I got another present today. This may have to be the coolest present yet! It's pretty hard to top a cotton candy maker but a bb gun is just way too cool! And it's bright pink! It even came with matching pink goggles. I'm so excited to use it!

Day 48

Today I sat around watching tv and eating cotton candy. It's only day 2 of official spring break and i'm already bored! Andrew brought a giant bag of popcorn home from school today. Perfect timing because I needed some salt to offset all the cotton candy i've been eating!

Maybe I'll start a project tomorrow...

Day 47

Today we went out to dinner for my birthday to Red Robin. Yum! It was a lot of fun and super delicious too! I opened the rest of my presents and got some pretty awesome gifts! Walking out I turned to Anthony and said "People who see these gift probably don't think they are for a 20 year old" but I love them! Sense a theme?

Days 45 & 46

Yesterday was my birthday and I got a couple of really fun hand-made gifts! The first was from my friend, Corinne. She made me the cutest bag out of sheets from the thrift store. I love it!

The other craft was from Emma. She has been into making secret book boxes. You take out the pages and then use the the cover of the book and some thin wood to make a box. The one she made me has a bunch of compartments for jewelry.

Today at church Kaia and Ari were baptized! I love being a part of all of these special moments in these girls' lives.

Day 44

By the time I got to my computer last night I was way too tired to upload pictures and post them. So here is yesterdays post!
Yesterday was busy! I woke up got my hair cut and then headed over to the neighbors to help make tamales and empanadas for the girls dedication on Sunday! We spent about five hours working on them and made enough to feed an army. My hands still smell like garlic after many washes and a shower.

This is just some of the chicken ones, we had a whole ton of sweet potato ones too!

Chicken empanadas, the terrible looking ones are mine

Stephanie called me last night and asked me to take a picture of the moon. I got my tripod and camera but couldn't find the moon anywhere! I looked in the front and in the back but could not find it. Sorry Stephanie!

Day 43

Spring break! How did I spend my first day of break? By taking a bath, watching tv shows all day and making cupcakes. I think it's off to a good and lazy start! I made the cupcakes for our tv night (Idol, Office and Community) but everyone was gone/busy so I had a dozen chocolate and coffee cupcakes to myself. I somehow limited myself to two.

Day 42

Biology final tomorrow and after that I will officially be on Spring  break! Hooray! This is what my entire day should have consisted of, instead it only took up a few hours. Hopefully the final is easier than i'm expecting it to be!

Day 41

Today I went to Joanns. I originally went to get yarn to make a shrug/shawl to go with my new dress but couldn't decide on a color or type of yarn or what I wanted to make so I decided I would think about it and get some later. However, I found a few fun clearance items! I got a little spiral bound calendar for $0.57. I have a little calendar already but I think I will use this one more since I can just leave it open to the month and just grab it out and get to it easier. I also found a birthday present for a friend. It wasn't on clearance but it was cheap for how awesome it is! Lastly I found a cute flower headband for $0.97. I love Joann clearance!

Stress-Free Finals Weeks

Today I took the best final ever! It was for my music theory class which has been a piece of cake all quarter long and the final was just the same. Here's what the majority of it looked like:
One more final to go on Thursday! Unfortunately, it's for my bio class and is the one i'm dreading the most and am least prepared for.

Corinne came over for a little bit together and we watched tv and she did my nails. I love her and don't want her to go back to E-burg at the end of the week!

Day 39

Today I went to Ross just for fun but ended up finding the perfect dress! My grandparents are taking their siblings and kids (and their families) on a cruise in June for their 50th Anniversary. On one of the last nights on the cruise we are all going to dress up fancy and go to a nice dinner and get family pictures. I was planning on just wearing something I already have but when I looked at Ross today I found this super gorgeous dress and when I tried it on it TOUCHED THE FLOOR! I can never find long dresses that touch the floor! The closest I have ever gotten in brushing the tops of my feet. Needless to say it was a sign and I had to get it!

Saturday (Day 38)

St. Patrick day! I slept in and then went over to Corinne's (Hooray for Spring break!) and made green cupcakes! It turned into quite to ordeal because we could not get the frosting right and so they all turned out looking pretty funky but they tasted good! Later we went over to Heather's and had a girls night with me, Corinne, Heather and Sarah. It had been wayyy too long since the last time we had all been together and it was so much fun hanging out and staying up too late!

Corinne puts Jello on them to keep them  moist

Green!

Heather made us tacos for dinner! They were delicious!

Friday (Day 37)

I have had no time to update my blog the last couple days! I did have time to take pictures though! On Friday I went with my quilting group to a quilt show! It was really fun and there were some amazing quilts (and some not so amazing ones). Unfortunately, it didn't inspire me to quilt, it just made me want to buy fabric that I can look at and touch. Luckily I resisted since I have plenty of fabric already that I can look at and touch.
The twins came and got to use their double stroller for the first time!

Rows and rows of quilts

Fabric!

Beautiful beads

This fabric made me think of Lori's wedding thank you notes!
Friday evening we went to a fondue fundraiser for Urban Impact. Yum! It was from 6:30 until 8:30 and for the first hour you just sit there and eat all kinds of hors d'oeuvres and fondue and then for the last hour Urban Impact spoke about what they do. It was a fun night of eating and learning about a wonderful organization!

Day 36

Today I made cookies for our Thursday night TV watching. Unfortunately mom gave up desserts for lent, Anne is off dairy and they have milk and butter in them, Tim doesn't like no bake cookies, Anthony couldn't make it tonight and dad, Andrew and Kiri were all gone. So Emma and I were the only ones who ate them. I ate enough to make up for all the people who didn't eat them, maybe I shouldn't have put the plate right next to me, or maybe I shouldn't have filled the plate when only two of us were eating them. But they were good! I only had 2 cups of quick oats and I needed three so I found some instant oatmeal in the closet and added some crunched up cereal. We were out of original oatmeal packets so I put maple flavored. They were a little different but still tasty!

These girls didn't get any cookies either.

Day 35

Tomorrow is final project day for photography! Mine is finished and ready to go! I like how it turned out!

An after the project is finished midnight snack:
